Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre Group Nursing Manager

Are you keen to take your veterinary nursing career to the next level? If yes, then our Nursing Manager position may be for you!

Similar to the traditional Head Nurse role, our Nursing Manager is tasked with supporting, leading and managing our veterinary nurses and clinical support staff, while still remaining very much hands-on clinically.

Within this role you'll not only be working in the stimulating and exciting environment of The Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre and putting all your clinical training into practice, you'll also be responsible for the overall management of the nursing teams across the group and for driving improvements in nursing and operational standards.

One of your main responsibilities will be to lead and inspire our Head Nurses. You will also be expected to support their personal development while helping them drive through improvements in nursing standards and operational efficiencies in their individual roles.

FULL TIME VET- 100% Small Animal- Min 5 years’ experience


Competitive with considerable practice perks including profit share scheme and your birthday OFF work (if it falls on a Monday – Friday working day)

Post Graduate Certificate holder preferred or the desire to study for such a qualification which would be fully funded by the Wheelhouse. A keen interest in Ultrasonography and Cardiology would be advantageous

Rental accommodation can be provided

 

Location:
Based primarily at our Chalfont St Giles surgery however may cover some Amersham surgeries once settled in

 

Rota:
4.5 days per week

Contracted 1x on call per week; however, we are well staffed so in reality this is fortnightly
A typical rota would be (changes can be considered):

Monday 9am-5.30pm
Tuesday 9am-8pm + on call
Wednesday 8am-12noon or 9am-1pm
Thursday 11am-8pm
Friday by Rotation

 

7 half weekends per annum (Friday evening surgery, on call, then Saturday till around 2pm)
7 full weekends per annum (full day Saturday circa 8.30-6.30 and Sunday 8.30-5.30, no on call and home in time for supper!)
 

About the practice:
11 FTVE across 2 main sites and 1 branch surgery

We cover our own OOH Monday – Friday and value our vets’ sanity so use Vets Now overnight at weekends
